Signing Together:

A Language Based Playgroup

In this playgroup, we will support the building blocks of language development through the use of baby sign language during books, music, play and daily routines. Baby sign language is a wonderful tool to facilitate communication between babies and their caregivers. Research has shown that using sign with young children can benefit cognition, attachment, language development, and social-emotional development. Caregivers and children will learn baby sign language together through repetitive exposure within natural contexts of routines and play so that signs will be remembered and can be integrated into families’ everyday activities. Each week will focus on vocabulary from a different daily routine or theme with plenty of opportunity for caregivers to practice and ask questions. This playgroup is run by pediatric speech-language pathologist, Kim Takacs.

Talking Together:

A Language Based Playgroup

In this playgroup, we will have fun connecting with our little ones through books, music, play, and daily routines. We will explore how to nurture our children’s early communication as they begin to use words and form sentences. We will work together to enrich our toddlers’ language environments for everyday routines so that learning is integrated into what they love doing. This playgroup is run by pediatric speech-language pathologist, Kim Takacs. www.togetherwebloomSLP.com
