Little Bee Learning Studio is a space thoughtfully designed for the social, emotional, spiritual and intellectual well-being of children and their caregivers

 

In our classroom inspired studio we offer a variety of classes to inspire creativity, happiness and peacefulness within yourself and your child. Our space provides a special time for your child to develop their language, senses and social emotional skills. We also provide a welcoming community for caregivers to meet new people, share advice and ideas.

Erin Berkowitz

Erin has been with Little Bee since 2018. She is the Little Bee Hoboken Studio Manager and a teacher at our Preschool on 7th Street. Erin’s love for teaching kids started when she was a camp counselor at a sleep away camp when she was in high school. Early Childhood education is in her blood as her mom was a pre-k teacher for forty years! In her spare time, Erin loves wrestling with her two sons and trying new restaurants with her husband, as well as swimming and doing Pilates.

Octavia Bailey

Octavia is a Pre-K Prep teacher at Little Bee Learning Studio in Hoboken at our 4th street location. Her love and passion for teaching early childhood education started when she worked at Hoboken Montessori School. Since then Octavia has worked with ages 1-5 in the preschool setting for 8 years. Her favorite part about the early childhood age group is watching them grow and become independent! In her spare time Octavia loves spending time with her family and seven year old son, enjoying family movie nights and any indoor jumping playground.

Ryan De Martino

Ryan is a Pre-K Prep teacher at Little Bee Learning Studio in Hoboken at our 4th street location. Her passion for teaching started in college where she graduated with a Bachelors in Elementary Education.  Since then, Ryan has worked as a Basic Skills teacher and a reading specialist for grades K-5. Her favorite part about the early childhood age is the wonder and curiosity children exhibit as they actively learn about the world around them through play. In her spare time Ryan loves spending time with her family, including her two daughters, reading, and the beach.

Andrea Feketova

Andrea is a preschool teacher at Little Bee Learning Studio in Hoboken at our 7th street location. Andrea discovered her love and passion for children as a young nanny, and she has spent over 15 years working with children, including 2 years in a preschool setting. Her favorite aspect of teaching preschoolers is that they are excited about learning and eager to engage in new activities and projects. Andrea spends her free time with her two children, cooking, baking and doing yoga.

Terry DeMonte

Terry DeMonte is one of Little Bee’s Pre-K Prep teachers along with being our Maplewood Studio Manager. She has been with Little Bee since 2017, starting out in Hoboken and then making the move to Maplewood as her family grew. Terry began a career in advertising which wasn’t very fulfilling to her, and she realized her passion for early childhood education. She went back to school and received her master’s degree in education at Rutgers University, however her allegiance lies with her undergraduate Big10 school Penn State University- We Are! When Terry isn’t home with her husband, two kids (9 and 6), and Goldendoodles, Snuffy & Ruby, she enjoys traveling, eating at new restaurants, being active and outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. When she’s at Little Bee she loves thinking up new activities, doing process and sensory art, and reading stories.

Maya Ziobro

Maya has been a dedicated teacher at Little Bee since 2021. Some children believe Maya lives at the studio and eats Able Baker cookies for every meal, but you might also spot her in the wild around SOMA, where she is busy raising her own three children. Maya holds a BA in English from Boston University and a New Jersey State Certificate of Eligibility for Preschool through Grade 3. She worked as an editor before pursuing her passion for teaching, a field in which she continues to advance her studies.


Outside of teaching, Maya is a violinist with the South Orange Symphony Orchestra and has recorded and performed with local bands. She also plays ukulele and loves to share the magic of music with her classes.

Founder + CEO

Mary Haywoode has a lifelong passion for facilitating and supporting early childhood development. She holds, a Masters of Education from Saint Catherine University and an Infant and Toddler American Montessori Society Teacher Certification, Mary's experience also includes teaching a toddler classroom at Twin Parks Montessori School on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and supporting special needs programs for children. She opened Little Bee Learning Studio on 4th and Garden in Hoboken in April 2016, with the Jefferson Street Studio following shortly behind, and a third studio in Maplewood, NJ as of July 2019. Through all her work, Mary strives to ensure she and her teams provide an excellent foundation of early childhood development and caregiver resources, without sacrificing individualization for children and parents alike.
